Our Story

We strive to supply the best microgreens to the local marketplace in a sustainable way

We have been growing our own food for many years and discovered microgreens during the pandemic lockdown. From the first tray we grew we were completely hooked. Pretty soon we were growing far too much.  We started giving them away to family and friends who loved them just as much as we did. 

After much research, here we are, fully licensed and insured.

We are always striving to make our business as environmentally friendly as possible. Everything from the growing medium to the packaging, to the way we deliver, is based on having a minimal  environmental impact.

One of the prime considerations for our business is making our energy use as minimal as possible, and making that use as environmentally sound as possible. Our lights are timed to ensure that we don’t use any more energy than is necessary to grow the plants. We use special LED grow lights that are more energy efficient than ordinary fluorescents.  But, our most exciting plans have to do with installing a solar energy system for our operations.

We take great care growing our microgreens and we are immensely proud of the quality of our produce.

Curry Island Microgreens is a small organic farm located in the rural fringes of the Everglades.

We grow our microgreens year round and while we welcome the Florida sunshine, all of our plants grow and green under LED grow lights in a temperature and humidity controlled environment indoors. We start with certified organic seeds and organic soil that naturally promotes maximum nutrition, prolonged shelf life and a sparkling fresh taste.

We farm using rigorous organic methods with an emphasis on careful monitoring of the needs of our plants.  Our microgreens are harvested within 10 – 14 days of planting which allows for both tenderness and well-developed taste profiles. Our crops are hand-harvested, inspected and delivered within 24 hours of harvesting to ensure perfect quality and freshness.

We follow strict food safety guidelines to ensure final product safety. Each container is packed with great attention to detail, and lots of love.
